Rathmoy was created back in 2006 on a 1000 hectare sheep and beef farm and offers a unique experience in some of New Zealand's most beautiful native bush. The Estate is situated deep in the heart of the Rangitikei just north of Hunterville and the property is bordered by the spectacular Rangitikei River. Its bush clad cliffs and river terraces naturally create the perfect environment for a 'pulse racing' driven pheasants.
The Shoot offer a diverse range of driven pheasant shooting opportunities to suit all levels of experience, whether you prefer fast snap shooting in deep gorges, tight shooting through trees, or perhaps you like to appreciatively watch the birds take flight for a few seconds before raising your gun.
Our exceptionally experienced English gamekeeper is thrilling visitors with his shoots and calibre of birds. Native trees, shrubs and large areas of cover crop have been planted to create a pheasant friendly environment. At the end of the day the whole team comes together for a drink to cheer those that got away and toast the ones that didn't.
The Shoot Hut, "The Fish & Pheasant" sits on the edge of the Rangitikei River and at the foot of the soaring Papa cliffs, it's a perfect and inspiring location before and after the shoot.
