Blixt & Co creates development "Master Plan" for Circle Three Ranch in Dillon, Montana.
During the last 6 month, Blixt & Co. has worked with the owner of Circle Three Ranch in Dillon, Montana to create a shooting related development plan. The objectives for this master plan were to investigate opportunities to maximize conservation, agriculture and recreational possibilities on approximately 1,600 acres of ranch land.
The "Master Plan" includes a number of solutions from wetland development, walk-up, duck shooting, fishing, as well as a small shooting ground for clays. In order to meet the objectives; maps, as well as a graphic based plan was created to clearly define the integration of the recreational activities on the land. The balance between agriculture and traditional ranching was a major factor to consider in order to find solutions maximizing the possibilities while enhancing the overall offerings of the Ranch.
Mr. Lars Magnusson started his career in the shooting industry in his native Sweden 15 years ago. During this time he have been involved in the start up of professional shooting schools, game shooting estates, and is currently in the process of helping new and existing land owner that have the desire to explore their own land based on shooting recreational pursuits.
Lars came to the United States in 2003 when he was recruited by Griffin & Howe Inc., to helm their Shooting School as the Managing Director. In 2006 he moved even further West to Jackson Hole Wyoming, to help a group of investors set-up one of the first true traditional pheasant and partridge shoots in a club concept in North America.
Blixt & Co. was established in the summer of 2008 and is focused on helping land owners in the American West to create shooting related solutions on their land. As many of the projects, that Lars have faced during the last 15 years, are totally dictated by the lay of the land and what each property have to offer, any new project needs to be evaluated in order to find out the best use and if it possible to create a unique experience.
The Circle Three Ranch was a perfect example of this process. As Lars and his team was driving up to Dillon they were thinking of finding a property that would be suited for traditional driven pheasant shooting. Instead they were looking at a very flat property with tremendous water rights, with the possibility to create a one of a kind wetland in the Beaverhead Valley.
In any project of this magnitude there need to be a clear plan on how to move forward, in order to be able to commit for a long term plan. The Master Plan created for Circle Three Ranch covered, action plan, time-line, branding / marketing solutions, as well as budgets for a three year project.
We have found that every project is different, due to the fact that the objectives of the owner are always slightly different.
